A world exclusive for the new video from Erick Morillo, Eddie Thoneick featuring Skin on gigwise.com. With legendary Skunk Anansie singer Skin taking control of the vocal line, and the undisputable touch of label boss Erick Morillo and regular partner in crime Eddie Thoneick on production duty, Subliminal’s springtime big hitter ‘If This Ain’t Love’ receives its official release – rather appropriately – on Valentine’s Day.
A heady combination of dance floor dynamite and raunchy, sex infused rock, the track continues the winning pairing of Morillo and Thoneick, whose previous collaborations ‘Live Your Life’ and ‘Stronger’ dominated global airwaves and taste-maker charts across 2010 and 2011. From the outset, ‘If This Ain’t Love’ is in a class of its own. The unmistakable voice of Skin provides an almost ethereal, euphoric dynamic against Morillo and Thoneick’s pumping house set-up. Soaring across thundering guitar riffs and uplifting piano chords, the singer’s emotive performance lifts the track higher and higher as the beats caress the bass lines underneath her.
The Sympho Nympho mix puts a more prominent dance edge on the track, with Erick, Harry Romero and Jose Nunez flexing their more-than-considerable musical muscles, perfecting the original with enough energy to rock the biggest rooms, stadiums and festivals on the planet. The video is set in a futuristic world, with dazzling visuals; ever-iconic Skin is bought to life by the power of music under the watchful eyes of computerized masters Morillo and Thoneick.
Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick ft. Skin – ‘If This Ain’t Love’ is released on February 14th 2012 on Subliminal Records worldwide.
Look at what we found… an unofficial video lovingly crafted from Erick’s last visit to the mighty Avalon in LA.
“I love it when people get creative and make videos from my parties to put up online,” said Erick, on viewing this for the first time last week.
It’s a sexy video to be sure, (check out the snake dancer at 3:10!) and a taste of what to expect this weekend, as Erick returns to the Hollywood-based club.
“I’m really looking forward to Avalon this weekend.” He says. “It’s by far the best venue on the West Coast, and we’re expecting a ridiculous roadblock outside the club, and a crazy ride inside.”
This is Erick’s official Christmas blowout for the LA crowd, but expect to see more of him at Avalon in 2011.
“I’ve just bought a house in LA so will be spending more time in the city,” he reveals.
“Expect some really special parties, starting with this Saturday night. See you there…”

If you didn’t happen to catch it on TV last night (although from the response on Twitter and Facebook loads of you obviously did), here’s Erick’s appearance on CNN as their ‘Connector of the Day’.
He speaks about everything from the importance of Ibiza to his work on Subliminal, and his early Latin music influences to plans to set up a charity in Columbia.
Great to see dance music getting some hugely positive exposure on such an important global platform, and who better in the world to do it?!
